Ralph Spilsbury received his B.S degree from ASU and his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the University of Arizona in Agronomy. He served for a number of years on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Agricultural Chemical Association as a board member, vice president and president. He was selected to assist in arranging the curriculum and writing the herbicide test used by the Arizona Department of Agriculture to license pest advisors who recommend and oversee the application of agricultural pesticides in the State of Arizona. He is also an ISA Certified Arborist.

Ralph represented the Wilbur Ellis Company as a technical advisor to farmers in Arizona for 19 years before starting Tree Doctors, Inc. Tree Doctors started when a relative asked for help with a dying Eucalyptus tree. Through experimentation he developed a formula of nutrients which he injected into the xylem tissue just beneath the tree’s bark. Within a few weeks the tree that had been yellow and dying became green and began the path back to health. What started out as a helpful solution, progressed through the years from a part time tree doctoring business into a full service tree care company that is passionate about applying science and art to the care of trees.

Janelle Spilsbury began her arborist career at a tender age climbing the family trees and checking out the bird nests every spring. As a student at BYU she particularly enjoyed roaming the campus and keying out the trees for her botany class. Being a wife and full time mother of seven children took precedence along with becoming an AMI Certified Montessori Teacher and teaching a Montessori Preschool in her home for 10 years. When Ralph and Janelle and her two sons, David and Jeremy, incorporated Tree Doctors, Inc. she joined them in becoming an ISA Certified Arborist and enjoys getting to the root of tree problems.

Jeremy Spilsbury is a second-generation arborist. Jeremy has been involved with the family business since he graduated from high school. He started going door to door with his brother David selling micro- injection treatments that his father, Ralph, had developed to revive dying Eucalyptus trees. This quickly expanded into providing other types of tree care services and in 1997, evolved into a full service tree care company when trimming, removal, and stump grinding services were added. Currently Jeremy runs Tree Doctors Inc., which services Chandler, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, and Queen Creek. He has been a Certified Arborist since 1999 and enjoys continuing to learn about the art and science of arboriculture.

Benjamin Fillmore is a Certified Arborist and has been providing exceptional service to our commercial clients for over eight years. He specializes in assisting communities on how to best allocate their tree care dollars in order to meet their desired objectives. His experience and knowledge are a tremendous asset to any community wanting to properly manage their trees.

Lorenzo began his career with Tree Doctors in 2007 working with our residential clients. He graduated from Mesa Community College with his Associates in Urban Horticulture in 2007. In 2008 He graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Ornamental Plant Care. He currently spends a good deal of his time sharing his knowledge with other professionals and his community. He teaches for the Arizona Landscape Contractor Association and is also an Adjunct Professor in the Horticulture department at Mesa Community College. He is an ISA Certified Arborist and an Arizona Certified Landscape Professional.
